Assistant Designer, Knits - CK Men's Sportswear - CALVIN KLEIN

The Assistant Designer is responsible for supporting the Designer III on Wholesale and Retail cut and sew knits.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

  • Contribute design ideas in the category of cut and sew knitwear for Calvin Klein Better Sportswear wholesale and retail.
  • Assists the Designer III in the development of tech packs
  • Create trim sheets
  • Manage changes to designs and information that is sent to merchandising and development teams.
  • Communicate daily with internal and overseas offices
  • Communicate with the CAD team to execute woven patterns seasonally
  • Work closely with graphic artist to develop exclusive graphic Tee programs
  • Assist with the creation and development of color, concept presentation boards
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of style packages and seasonal design boards.
  • Support Designer III in all fittings.
  • Participate in color, knitdown and style approvals.
  • Trend research with design team.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:
  • 1+ years' experience preferred.
  • Background in garment construction, with experience in Men's Apparel

Education: Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Design.

Skills:
  • Web PDM and Illustrator knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to create technical illustrations of styles.
  • Good sense of color is required.
  • Background in garment construction, background in Men's Apparel a plus.
  • Excellent communications skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to establish good relationships with key parties and department staff.
  • Flexibility to deadline demands, seasonal schedules.
