Assistant Designer, Boys/Girls (Kids) - Tommy Hilfiger

To assist Girls/Boys Design team in all aspects of design process. Includes but not limited to, research, sketching, organizing, building design boards, recapping cross functional meetings & fittings, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing Trend Research to Designer- specific to categories
  • Partnering with the Designer to design and sketch seasonal needs which may include some design ownership
  • Create tech packs and communicate artwork needs to CAD team
  • Build and prepare sketch boards for presentation
  • Create line sheets, prep for meetings and recap all cross-functional meetings that include design changes/ updates
  • Actively participate in fittings, take notes and input to database system
  • Review and comment on Lab Dips, Fabric, artwork strike offs & trims
  • Organize seasonal documents/ fabrics/ samples (includes unpacking and organizing racks each season)

Qualifications:
  • College degree in Fashion Design
  • 1-2+ years of related experience
  • Adept at the working place, handling multiple projects and juggling priorities in an organized but flexible manner
  • Strong organizational skills and problem solving skills
  • Ability to sketch and draw flats by hand and in Illustrator
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction
  • Strong computer knowledge including PDM/ PLM, Adobe Bridge, Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work in fluid environment with changing priorities required
  • Strong communication skills
