Alterations Manager, 205W39NYC Store - CALVIN KLEIN

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Alterations Manager will oversee the alterations team of tailors and develop alteration resources in order to ensure superior customer service and to drive sales.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

  • Oversee the workroom and alterations staff
  • Expertise in luxury Men's and/or Women's Ready-to-Wear alterations
  • Maximize productivity from all staff
  • Maintain accurate logs and submit the required reports to Corporate
  • Oversee filing and assignment of work by date and priority
  • Intercept errors or quality control problems, and immediately addresse them with staff
  • Maintain open communication with sales staff and store management
  • Update and train staff regarding changes in garment construction, design, and fabric specifics, etc.
  • Monitor operations to maintain the highest level of quality, accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to conduct sales floor fittings and measurements and direct interaction with clients
  • Responsible for the construction, deconstruction and reconstruction of garments and pattern making exposure
  • Hand-sewing experience as well as operating a sewing machine
  • Detail work including: beading, leather, and stitching

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience: 5-10 years as a tailor/fitter and retail manager, specializing in alterations for fashion/luxury retailers.

Education: College education and Completion of technical training/apprenticeship is desired

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible to deadline demands as well as handling various tasks
  • Ability to comply with all company standards, alterations guidelines and appropriate turn-around time for projects
  • Flexibility in schedule and work hours
  • Must have strong customer service skills to provide courteous and precise customer satisfaction
  • Fluency in English
