Software System Test Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work as AGILE team member within Pulte's AGILE software development process.
  • Plan, write and execute automated/manual test cases based on user stories.
  • Document defects in TFS tracking system and execute appropriate tests on corrected defects.
  • Work independently with AGILE teams and other technical groups to communicate and resolve project issues.
  • Work within the company's AGILE software development process.
  • Continually expand Pulte domain knowledge and team testing capabilities.

Skills:

  • 8 years of Software Quality Assurance experience testing on both web based and SOA based applications.
  • Understanding and experience with all types of testing including functional, regression, system, integration, automated, destructive and smoke testing.
  • Understanding and experience with all types of testing including functional, regression, system, integration, automated, destructive and smoke testing.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, including the ability to create SQL queries.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and have the technical curiosity to seek root cause of complex issues between multiple software applications.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in communicating information to project team members and different levels of management.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple systems and learn complex business processes quickly.
  • Experience with Mortgage Loan Origination Systems a plus.
  • Comfortable in AGILE development environments and cross-functional team structures.
  • Strong work ethic and integrity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Automation experience is a plus

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Minimum High School Diploma. Bachelor's degree in Information Systems preferred.
