Assistant Escrow / Settlement Officer

Job Summary:
Primary responsibility for assisting in the closing of real estate transactions.

Work with lenders to fund loans and prepare files for disbursement
and recording
Prepare closing packages for lender, seller, buyer and accounting
Prepare and deliver key releases, final HUD statements, and
disbursement summary balance sheets
Collect all monies due and create receipt for buyers
Review and sign checks or initiate wire transfers for disbursements
to appropriate parties
Obtain purchase agreements and provide copies as necessary
Input orders in escrow processing system, prepare working file
and track due dates
Obtain information for closing including homeowner dues, payoffs,
tax certificates, surveys and other documentation
Communicate closing information and dates to lenders, clients,
agents, outside title companies, attorneys, buyers, and sellers to
Set appointments for Escrow Officer/Closer to perform closing
Assist in resolution curative requirements
Prepare and forward appropriate documents to county for
Forward files to Post Closing for audit and review
* Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements: Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
Bachelors Degree preferred

Related Functional Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years experience in title
and escrow industry
Knowledge of title procedures
Basic understanding of settlement statement, deed, and loan
Effective communication, presentation, and organization skills
Knowledge of real estate law preferred
Ability to type at least 45 WPM
