Business Analyst

As a Business Analyst you will use statistics, modeling, and trend analysis to explore and identify data from internal and external sources to aid business initiatives. Construct reports to analyze customer behavior and solve a variety of business problems. Collaborate across various teams from tech to sales, to find patterns and relationships in client behavior and aid business decisions and client relationships.

What you'll be doing:

  • You will become expert in analyzing massive amounts of data
  • Work across multiple data sources and learn tricks in writing efficient queries on various types of DBs
  • Gather information on reporting needs and objectives as new exchange features are released, document requirements and create reports for business users using Tableau, SSRS or JS frameworks
  • Support ad-hoc request queue for aiding business in analyzing client behavior and exchange trends and opportunities
  • Recommend changes to address deficiencies and/or streamline existing reports based on performance/new features and any other findings
  • Work closely with Tech and Operations teams to enhance data warehousing and exchange functionalities
  • Represent data and industry knowledge across different business units
  • Prioritize deliverables, recommend alternative solutions and strategies across organization
  • Pick up new skills by working on projects that will allow you to play with new technologies while also strengthening your existing abilities

What you'll need:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Business/Data Analyst
  • 2+ years of writing complex SQL queries, prior experience with Hive, Impala, Vertica a plus
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience with various BI tools (Tableau preferred)
  • Ability to translate business requirements into easily understood reporting/analytical requirements
  • Strong written and oral skills, ability to tailor messages to a diverse audience
  • Self-Motivated/Starter, Creative thinker “beyond how things are done today”
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, juggle multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of programing concepts, scripting (python), JavaScript, R a plus
  • Ad exchange/Real Time Bidding experience a plus
  • Bachelor degree required; MS in Analytics preferred.
  • Hands-on, highly collaborative, persistence, patience, and excellent business acumen

Desired background:

  • Analytics team works closely with the Data Science group - prior experience and awareness of predictive analytics/modeling and track record of analytic thinking and consultative problem solving highly desired
  • Strong aptitude for effective visual design of reports/dashboards and executive communication
  • Technical aptitude and familiarity with leading BI technologies and methods to created valuable insights
  • Experience with executing digital campaigns; Brand Safety and Audience Vendors a plus
  • Awareness of digital yield optimization tools, proficiency with ad-tech industry platforms/tools for measurement, delivery, and targeting
  • Ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a keen instinct for discovering and exploiting opportunities, diving into complex problems and developing novel solutions to solve them
  • Excited about innovation, always thinking ahead how to improve current and build new long term solutions
