The Benefits Data Consultant develops and leads an employee benefits data analytics strategy that enables data warehousing, dashboards and reporting for Publix health, welfare and wellness plans and programs, as well as other total compensation plans, programs and operations. The incumbent will be an important contributor to the overall benefits strategy and the departmental strategy planning and prioritization process.
Additional responsibilities include:
- collaborates with benefits leadership, internal stakeholders and external partners to identify actionable opportunities for savings, efficiencies and enhancements that support Publix being a great place to work
- supports innovation and development efforts related to Publix's health, welfare, voluntary benefits and wellness plans and programs
- supports strategic projects and benefits-critical initiatives, including oversight of the conceptual design, proof of concept and pilots leading to recommendations and implementations of solutions

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related field or equivalent (5 years of progressive responsibility in data analytics)
- at least three (3) years of responsibility in the population health data analytics field
- knowledge of data analytics, statistics and mathematics
- knowledge of programming languages; SQL
- knowledge of project management and Continuous Quality Improvement principles
- knowledge of general financial and accounting principles
- strong analytical, technical and research skills
- strong communication skills; both verbal and written
- ability to design, create and implement automated dashboards
- ability to prepare and delivery effective presentations to variety of audiences
- ability to identify logical flaws or shortcomings in analyses and identify missing or incomplete data
- ability to assist business area associates in understanding and developing/deepening their data needs and requests
- intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office; Excel
- basic knowledge of Access
- ability to be proficient with databases and spreadsheets
- willingness to occasionally travel overnight as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Statistics, Analytics, MIS or Information Technology
- experience in health care, employee benefits or benefits consulting for a company similar in size to Publix or retail industry
- experience working with large quantities of claims data and
- experience with IBM Watson Health, HDMS, SQL, and/or SAP computer systems
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certification or Group Benefits Associate (GBA)
- knowledge of systems used by third party vendors; IBM Watson Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield and OptumRx
