Senior Fundraising Manager - Kitchener/Waterloo Region

As a manager the ideal candidate will have an intuitive understanding of staff morale, motivation and other aspects of staff management, including coaching and logistics, all leading towards the successful running of a fundraising office.
This role involves hands-on and consistent coaching of all staff and direct reports in accordance to the Southern Ontario coaching and staff development structure.
This position offers a deep level of personal development with hands on mentorship from the Regional Director and Senior Leadership Team including further fundraising management development, sales leadership training, overseeing 3 or more fundraising offices and lifting your professional profile both at Public Outreach and within the non-profit, sales, and project management sector. This is a unique opportunity to develop and grow a region which would allow Public Outreach to access and engage untapped neighborhoods and parts of the Southern Ontario region and generate tremendous results for our charity partners. Some travel is a requirement within the region.
The Senior Fundraising Manager is directly responsible for managing designated Door or Street Fundraising Offices in the Kitchener/Waterloo region, so that each office consistently achieves contracted donation acquisition targets, on time and on budget, for Public Outreach Canada's non-profit partners.
- Coaching Fundraising Managers, Fundraising Team Leaders, Fundraisers and Trainees within the KW Region
- Set goals/targets for your offices/teams in collaboration with senior management, Operations and Client Services.
- Devise and implement strategy for your offices/teams to deliver on Public Outreach’s response targets.
- Ensure offices/teams under your responsibility are achieving targets set by Directors and Senior Fundraising Managers, including PPH, GPD, and other related Response metrics. Targets and goals can change at the discretion of Public Outreach.
- Targets set are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, time-based and reviewed with senior management.
- Office/team response targets are met or exceeded and problems or issues in achieving response targets are effectively and promptly communicated to the Senior Fundraising Manager.
- Devise a strategy for your offices/teams to deliver on Public Outreach’s financial targets.
- Record, monitor and report financial progress at meetings with the Director.
- Carry out regular financial and profitability evaluations in consultation with the Director.
- Exercise ‘budget holder’ responsibilities for your offices income and expenditure budget.
- Operations are kept within budget. Any budgetary problems or issues are promptly raised with Finance and/or the Director.
- Lead by example by fundraising alongside Fundraising Managers, Fundraising Team Leaders and Fundraisers
- Devise a strategy for your offices/teams to deliver on Public Outreach’s volume targets. Lead and motivate the fundraising team to implement and deliver on the strategy and plans.
- Oversee recruitment and selection of Fundraising Managers and Fundraising Team Leaders. Support FMs and Fundraising Team Leaders in recruitment and development of Fundraisers. Ensure there are sufficient people resources across offices and teams to meet volume targets.
- Retention of staff meeting performance expectations.
- Volume planning targets set out in the Volume Projection Planner are met or exceeded.
- CAN% targets are met or exceeded for the office as a whole.
- There are adequate staff levels across offices/team to cover for absences and peaks in workload.
- Ensure Fundraising Offices are meeting requirements for donor documentation, including accuracy of PACs, PFUs and OTGs.
- Ensure FMs and Fundraising Team Leaders and Fundraisers are presenting themselves in a professional manner to the general public, in accordance with the Code of Conduct and other Public Outreach policies and procedures, including dress code.
- Lead, motivate and train Fundraising Managers and Fundraising Team Leaders, and Fundraisers as required.
- Coach, develop and work alongside Fundraising Managers, Fundraising Team Leaders and direct reports. Conduct weekly one-on-ones, formal performance assessments, and pay reviews.
- Ensure excellent communications between your offices and Fundraisers, Fundraising Managers, Client Services, Fundraising Support Coordinators, and other Public Outreach departments and groups are maintained at all times.
- One-on-Ones, formal performance assessments, and pay band reviews are completed on a timely manner in accordance with guidelines set by PublicOutreach.
- On-boarding , training, development and evaluation of staff meets expectations and requirements of Public Outreach.
- Fundraising teams are up-to-date on changes and new developments concerning clients, policies, procedures, practices, events and opportunities.
- Staff upholds the principles of ethical fundraising, the AFP Donor Bill of Rights, Imagine Canada’s Ethical Code of Fundraising Practices. Staff also upholds Public Outreach policies, procedures guidelines, Code of Conduct, and relevant provincial laws/regulations.
- Positive feedback from Fundraising Managers, other Senior Fundraising Managers, Client Services, Fundraising Support Coordinators and other Public Outreach departments and groups.
- Manages and participates in projects supporting the division locally and nation-wide. As required, manage and participate in projects involving other Public Outreach departments.
- Track project against its schedule, budget and report status to management on a regular basis.
- Over the course of a year this position may require opening one or more offices, running seasonal offices, or close/combine offices into one, depending on strategic direction.
- May be required to manage offices outside of their designated region.
- A key goal is to develop and promote Fundraising Managers within the region.

- Available and willing to travel and work nights and weekends, as needed or directed by Public Outreach Directors.
