VP, Chief Product Owner Enterprise Data & Modeling Platforms

The Global Technology & Data organization at Prudential is seeking a VP, Chief Product Owner (CPO) for Enterprise Data & Modeling Platforms. Reporting into the Chief Data Officer, this highly visible role will join the Chief Data Office leadership team responsible for building a leading data and analytics organization, focused on managing data integrity and providing valuable insights driving competitive advantage to the businesses' strategic choices.

The successful candidate will develop and drive the vision and strategy for the enterprise data and modeling platform portfolio comprised of the following: data management platform, enterprise data platform, BI platform, AI/ML platform, RPA/Chatbot platform and data and analytics platform operations. This leader will partner closely with the Chief Product Owner, Application and Data Platforms within the Chief Technology Office. The position is based in Newark, N.J.

Responsibilities

  • Set ambitious and clear portfolio vision and communicate 'the story' effectively to key stakeholders and the rest of the team
  • Own the end-to-end portfolio strategy from inception and determine business value once solution enters production
  • Drive benefit definition and tracking through to realization
  • Accountable for stakeholder and customer engagement to ensure alignment across stakeholder and user groups
  • Develop action plans, following up and closing out all gaps and issues to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate the ability to design, configure, engineer, integrate, implement platform components and services
  • Provide thought leadership on enterprise data and modeling platforms
  • Engage with Product Owners to be creative when it becomes necessary to tailor configurations to business needs
  • Design and deliver solutions that deliver a frictionless experience to Prudential's workforce and external customers
  • Prioritize epic backlog by assessing business and customer value through input from all lead roles and various stakeholders
  • Lead product sync meeting of Product Owners and stakeholders to ensure continuous alignment of product scope
  • Participate in demos and Inspect & Adapt workshops
  • Develop and communicate the Constituent Journey vision and roadmap to teams and stakeholders
  • Define scope of work as features and prioritizes features in the Constituent Journey backlog
  • Validate and accept features when they are completed by the Constituent journey
  • Work with Solution Architects to understand and prioritize business demands



Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field
  • 10 years of experience managing projects through the full development lifecycle
  • Experience in public cloud platform preferred
  • Experience in data lake architecture, design, build, and run leadership preferred
  • Experience in data migration from on-prem to public cloud preferred
  • Understands how strategic themes influence direction of product solution
  • Experience in Agile Development, with Product Owner or Chief Product Owner (or similar) experience preferred
  • Understands Lean-Agile principles and practices
  • Ability to document detailed product concepts in the context of user needs, business impacts, and technical requirements
  • Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience turning data into actionable insights
  • Challenger mindset and passion to challenge status quo to find new solutions and drive out of the box ideas - loves and embraces change
  • Believes in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, and trust across the team
  • Not afraid to 'roll up the sleeves' and seeks to go outside comfort zone to learn - pushes the team to do the same
  • Experimental mindset to drive innovation
