Sr. Financial Reporting Associate

The Treasury Controllers Group in ALM Finance of Prudential Financial Inc. (PFI) has an opening for Senior Financial

Reporting Associate. The group is primarily responsible for the analyzing, reporting, and communicating actual and forecasted derivatives results of PFI to senior management, Prudential businesses and external financial filings under

Statutory accounting standards. The group is also responsible for preparing the debt footnote included in PFI's external financial filings under applicable accounting standards, as well as the accounting and reporting of Treasury stock for PFI.

The derivative instruments encompass interest rate swaps, cross currency swaps, forwards, futures, options in the context of General Account investments, PFI's foreign currency hedging as well as structured transactions.

The successful candidate's responsibilities include the following:

Treasury Stock

  • Record treasury stock transactions (share repurchases & stock option exercises)
  • Record other entries impacting treasury stock (i.e., month-end accruals, restricted stock releases, deferred compensation, PSPP program, etc.
  • Prepare the monthly treasury stock reconciliation
Enterprise Debt Reporting
  • Prepare quarterly the debt footnote and other debt related disclosures included in the company's Management,
Discussion and Analysis
  • Consolidate market value reporting for debt
  • Compile and analyze consolidated interest expense for the enterprise
  • Prepare derivative accounting and reporting for corporate and other subsidiaries
  • Prepare annual disclosures for debt and affiliated notes receivables for Pru Holdings and PICA
  • Prepare debt supplemental (GAAP package) pages for corporate and other subsidiaries
  • Prepare the company's quarterly and annual debt footnotes and related XBRL filing
Derivative Reporting
  • Prepare quarterly STAT basis derivative results and analysis exhibits for Senior Management
  • Prepare derivative footnote for Statutory Blue Books
  • Assist in preparing regulatory filings for derivatives
  • Partner with internal and external auditors, investment operations, Corporate STAT controllers, and the SEC Reporting group
Additional Responsibilities
  • Design, automate, and maintain various spreadsheets used to compile and analyze data
  • Support new department initiation and other ad hoc projects
  • Overtime required during peak period


Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • Advanced degree and certifications (e.g. CPA) a plus
  • Proficient in Excel, Power Point and Word
  • Familiarity with Workiva, Oracle, Clarity/XBRL a plus
  • Strong sense of team work
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and partnering skills
  • Self-motivated
