Software Developer

Prudential's Retirement business is seeking an experienced Software Developer who has the right mix of technical experience and practical hands-on experience, to build customer-centric solutions that drive positive business outcomes. The candidate will be responsible to work with Business, DevOps, Backend and Architecture teams to successfully deliver complex cross-functional projects. The Developer will create, test, and deploy solutions across multiple technology domains. The Developer will have the opportunity to influence, differentiate, and guide our business and technology solutions by establishing the robust technical capabilities that will enable Retirement to deploy plug and play solutions in a rapidly changing ecosystem. This position will report in to Retirement delivery organization, collaborate with other Technical Leads, Developers, Testers, and Scrum Masters within Retirement, other lines of business teams and Corporate groups.

The Developer will be expected to showcase continuously learning mindset, adopt contemporary techniques, and utilize their experience to assist with the transformation creating positive outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Development work with mainstream and emerging technologies
  • Work closely with business partners to understand needs and transform them into testable components
  • Research Issues and provide solutions
  • Actively participate in design discussions
  • Work closely with Analyst, QA Testers and other developers in a high performing team in a collaborative environment



  • Qualifications:
    Must possess an undergraduate or graduate level degree with a concentration in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field OR equivalent relevant experience.

    Other qualifications include:
  • 2 years of experience in the development and design of complex applications
  • Proficiency in any mainstream programming language; knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript, Java, SQL, Angular, Spring Boot, Pega 7 preferred.
  • Working experience and understanding of Javascript frameworks and API/Web services is essential
  • Exposure to AWS or other Cloud technologies is preferred
  • Ambition to learn and utilize emerging technologies while working in a stimulating team environment.
  • Professional appearance and the ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and tactful manner
  • Experience delivering business capabilities for Retirement Industry plus
  • Understanding of the enterprise architecture to ensure ongoing alignment, driving the technical roadmap for key applications and platforms
  • Familiarity with continuous delivery, configuration management, continuous integration, and source control software processes and tools a requirement
  • Prior experience with enterprise integration applications or techniques a plus
  • Knowledge of different SDLC Methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, SAFe etc)
  • Excellent multi-tasker capable of handling multiple projects at any one time
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proven ability to learn and adapt to change quickly and easily
