TITLE : Senior Specialist, Systems Development (The Prudential Insurance Company of America)
LOCATION: Newark , NJ
DUTIES: Develop quality front-end applications in an agile environment and create prototypes and POCs (Proof of Concept) to validate, promote, and define technology strategies. Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing Teams, UX designers, other technology and architecture teams. Use industry standard tools and components in achieving a high throughput of code. Develop Responsive web applications utilizing tools, programs and languages. Review stories to ensure that they are accurate and actionable. Estimate the effort required to complete the feature or features described in the story. Write tests using the TDD method of development. Write code to pass the test written in the TDD. Participate in the daily SCRUM with the rest of the development team. Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure that the feature is bug free and ready for deployment. Participate in the release process at the end of the sprint. Participate in the post sprint retroactive to identify what improvements can be made to the process during the upcoming sprint. Participate in code reviews both peer to peer and team code reviews. Conduct emergency production level troubleshooting. Work on performance improvement of applications.

Qualifications:
REQTS: Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the position offered, as a Software Developer, Development Engineer, or a related position. Must have five (5) years of progressively responsible experience with: HTML; JavaScript; CSS; Bootstrap; Object oriented JavaScript; AJAX; jQuery; SASS; Agile; Waterfall; Responsive web applications; Jenkins; Maven; Gulp; REST; SOAP API; JIRA; Confluence; Bitbucket; SVN; and Github.
HOURS : Full time; Mon- Fri (37.5 hrs/week)
