TITLE : Staff Back End Java Software Engineer (The Prudential Insurance Company of America)

LOCATION: Sunnyvale, CA

DUTIES: Develop software to support business in the areas of PubSub, Messaging platform.
Collaborate with product management, marketing, designers, and technology and architecture teams. Work in a rapid pace environment with ability to juggle multiple projects. Hands on design and development experience in Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, JUnit and front-end development experience including HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, Sass/Scss, AngularJS, jQuery and Bootstrap. Strong integration background. Experience with REST, JSON and APIs. Familiarity with Microservices architecture. Understand responsive web development, engineer solutions, and turn concepts to life. Collaborate with product management, marketing, designers, and technology and architecture teams. Handle the quality of code and adapt to the changing design frameworks and design principles. Work within iterative/Agile environment and employ industry best practices to deliver appropriate solutions. Ensure the developed solutions remain in compliance with all applicable Prudential standards. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and enable changes, help accelerate innovation, and ensure customer satisfaction. The Prudential Insurance Company of America is EOE.


Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering (any), Computer Science, or a related field plus six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the position offered or as a Consultant, Software Engineer, or a related position. Must have six (6) years of progressively responsible experience with: Java; Hibernate; Oracle; Soap services; Jms; Jquery; Javascript; OWASP Enterprise Security API; maven; SOAP UI; Jenkins; Security concepts; SSL; web service proxies; firewalls and multi-protocol gateways; and working in iterative and Agile environments. Must have two (2) years of experience with: monitoring and logging techniques and tools including Splunk and Dynatrace; NPM; Sonarqube; Artifactory; Springboot; Angular; REST services; and AWS.

HOURS: Full-Time; Mon-Fri (37.5 hrs/week)
