Senior Actuarial Associate (Hybrid)

Prudential has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Actuary on the Actuarial Valuation & Projections team supporting the Prudential Retirement Strategies business. The individual will work with the team to execute on valuation, forecasting, and financial reporting activities. In addition, this individual will help generate and implement insights and analysis that support the business and contribute towards enhancing capabilities as well as supporting new products and business initiatives, as they arise.

Primary Responsibilities:
Reporting & Analysis: Timely and accurate delivery of reported results for GAAP, STAT, and internal management reporting purposes. Analyze results and perform quarterly attribution to understand changes. Communicate results and drivers to management and business partners. Perform sensitivity testing of key drivers to understand potential reporting impacts under shock scenarios and inform financial forecasts.

Improve Processes & Capabilities: Leverage technology to streamline existing processes and create new capabilities to add value.

Project Work: Engage in projects to support business initiatives and new products, as needed.

Collaboration & Communication: Actively engage with partners and key stakeholders across the company to share results and best practices.

Job Requirements:
• At least 2 years of relevant actuarial experience with a proven track record of high performance.
• A self-motivated individual with ownership mentality and ability to manage tasks independently.
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate well with others as part of a team.
• Strong technical skills to quickly get up to speed with models, analyze large amounts of data, and contribute towards enhanced analytics and process improvements. Commonly used applications include Excel/VBA, SQL, Power BI, and Python.
• Professional designation (ASA/FSA, CERA, and/or CFA) or progress towards is preferred.
• Experience with Pension Risk Transfer or Stable Value products, a plus.
• Understanding of GAAP financial statements and familiarity with Long Duration Targeted Improvements (LDTI), a plus.
• Experience with Python or coding, a plus
• Knowledge of asset-liability management principles and insurance company investment portfolios is preferred.
• Experience with Moody's AXIS actuarial modeling software, or similar, a plus.
• Experience with principles-based reserving (PBR) for statutory reporting, a plus.
• Open to remote/virtual location outside of commutable Newark, NJ location.

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $93,200.00 to $138,600.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
