The primary responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

Oversee mutual fund tax compliance work, review accuracy of provisions and dividend calculations. Coordinate workflow, assignments and deadlines.

Review financial statement tax disclosures.

Review of federal, state and local tax returns.

Review year-end shareholder reporting.

Develop policies and procedures on various tax items and establish, document and review controls to maintain RIC tax qualifications.

Review excise tax work.

Coordinate mutual fund tax functions with fund auditors, accounting, and other operational departments.

Support portfolio managers on tax considerations and impacts.

Responsible for review and research of complex holdings, including but not limited to partnerships, MLPs, swaps, options, foreign currency, shorts, notional principal contracts, convertible debt and passive foreign investment companies.

Oversight of custodian banks tax reclaim services.

Oversight of foreign jurisdictions taxation and impacts to mutual funds.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in business/accounting
• 5 years experience in mutual fund taxation
• CPA and/or Masters in Accounting or Tax preferred
• Strong technical mutual fund tax skill
• Strong excel skills
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills
