Director of Strategic Sourcing - Corporate and HR Services

As the Director of Strategic Sourcing - Corporate and HR Services, you will be responsible for developing, managing and executing your category strategy for one or more procurement categories in partnership with your clients and you will lead the sourcing of suppliers against business requirements to solve the right challenges. In addition, you will be responsible for executing the Chief Procurement Officer's (CPO) vision by identifying and pursuing the short and long-term opportunities that deliver value to Prudential, including savings and supplier diversity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Category Management: Drive maximum value from external spend globally by (i) Cultivating bold and diverse ideas in developing your category strategies, ensuring business alignment and incorporating market intelligence, tech forward solutions and detailed sourcing / savings plans (ii) Being accountable for leading negotiations and contracting, performance management and issue resolution (iii) Lead vendor relationship management across all strategic vendors

  • Vendor Governance: Assess Enterprise wide risk profile of Prudential's top, strategic vendors as well as category specific risks by: (i) Supporting end to end Vendor Governance processing in partnership with business stakeholders and central due diligence (ii) Providing inputs for a holistic view of vendor risks (iii) Overseeing performance management and metrics for our strategic vendors

  • Business Partnering: Become a trusted business advisor, adding actionable insight and knowledge to our clients by: (i) Involvement in Executive Leadership Team meetings to manage demand through early procurement partnership to achieve faster and better results (ii) Being a single point-of-contact for your assigned business unit, supporting issue resolution and driving stakeholder value (iii) Creating customized data analytics back to businesses to provide insight across sourcing and procurement

  • Supplier Sustainability: Promote Prudential's Supplier Diversity and Sustainability initiatives, including but not limited to providing opportunity to diverse suppliers and increasing vendor reporting with CDP

  • Leadership: Act with integrity, lead inclusively and drive higher performance when working with SPG's centers of excellence teams on sourcing and contracting


Qualifications:
  • This individual will have 8 or more years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or a strategic sourcing organization. Experience in vendor governance and / or knowledge of risk policies and processes a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree is required. Candidates with strong contract negotiation, knowledge of Corporate Services (Including HR and Benefits, Legal) will be strongly considered.
  • Superior analytical ability to quickly gather facts, perform root cause analysis and draw conclusions.
  • Strong conceptual thinking skills with adeptness to lead others through ambiguous and/or complex issues.
  • Extensive experience managing change across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Superior negotiation skills to influence senior leadership on strategic direction, business case value proposition and sourcing recommendations.
  • Superior contract/vendor negotiation preparation and execution skills to achieve desired outcomes from supplier negotiations.
  • Ability to build consensus and act as an independent arbiter to achieve sourcing outcomes that meet business requirements without sacrificing service or increasing risk/cost.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently and knowledge of business requirement and project management principles and methodology.
