Accounts Payable Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain systems, procedures and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines
  • Manage two AP Specialists to ensure completion of accurate and timely accounts payable processing, provide guidance on moderate to complex issues, support the effective resolution of issues; provide relevant opportunities for training, mentorship, and career development.
  • Ensure timely completion of all accounts payable financial deadlines for monthly, quarterly and annual financial close cycles, including supporting requests from internal and external audit functions.
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation, purchase orders, and approval prior to payment.
  • Prepare monthly accruals for services received but not invoiced and expense reports pending approval
  • Manage and reconcile corporate credit card program and related liabilities monthly
  • Review and audit expense reports for accuracy and proper authorization
  • Manage third party payment integrations to the general ledger
  • Partner with Procurement to manage vendor relations; communicate with other departments and with vendors regarding our position on relevant issues.
  • Manage annual 1099 reporting
  • Additional projects and functions as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related area preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Seven or more years in Accounting and Accounts Payable experience with at least one year in a supervisor or manager position
  • Working experience with and knowledge of accounting software systems (preferably Intacct)
  • Must have experience with and passion for continuous improvements of systems and processes
  • Excellent people, communication, and writing skills, and ability to work well with internal and external customers
  • Experience working within a fast-paced, high-growth environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong Excel skills; Ability to manipulate and analyze large volumes of data, identify trends and issues and provide insights to management and budget owners.
