Product Writer

Prezi is looking for a Product Copywriter to join our team in Budapest. The ideal candidate is a whiz with words and has experience writing product copy in a clear, engaging, inspiring, and conversational voice. (S)he is able to translate technical language into compelling communication that a non-tech savvy user would understand. (S)he also will be a world-class communicator and have experience collaborating cross-functionally, as this role will work closely with Prezi’s product, UX, design, localization, and brand teams.

This position is responsible for writing the copy in our products, ensuring it’s as intuitive, inspiring, and fun to use Prezi as it is to see one of our presentations.

You’ll officially be a part of the brand marketing team but will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners. This means you’ll work to bring Prezi’s brand voice and game-thinking philosophy to our product copy, helping give our users the ultimate experience. It’s also important you empathize with our users and bring to life the messages our product and UX teams want to convey.



  • Creating product copy that is in-line with Prezi style, branding, and game-thinking philosophy
  • Craft copy for new and existing products and features
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the product, UX, design and marketing teams, managing their expectations and agreed objectives
  • Writing and editing error messages to ensure these messages are helpful to and empathetic with our users
  • Writing product release notes
  • Communicating new product features and releases with the content team
  • Collaborating with other Prezi writers (e.g., brand and content writers) to help ensure a single, unified voice
  • Delivering all copy on time and to a high standard
  • Collaborating with internationalization manager for localization
  • Participating in user interviews or other data collaborations with UX and design teams to see how your words come to life


You’re a native English speaker or you speak and write English on a native level with:

  • a degree in communications or a related field
  • a strong product writing background in various styles for target markets
  • a passion for words and the work you produce
  • a data-driven mindset to think critically and produce copy accordingly
  • a good understanding of UX practices and information architecture
  • an ability to do a quick turnaround and to work well under pressure
  • a positive, can-do attitude and a sense of humor
  • an ability to analyze and interpret user testing data for insights on copy
  • a willingness to stand up for your words
  • experience at a startup
  • stakeholder management experience
  • flexibility and organization
  • lots and lots of ideas (preferably good ones)
  • experience using Prezi products
  • a sharp eye for punctuation and small style or grammatical errors
