POLITICO Fellowship (EDI0019)

POLITICO is offering a one-year fellowship to a promising reporter who is committed to developing expertise in political and congressional news coverage.

The fellowship begins in December and lasts one year. The fellowship pays a stipend of at least $30,000 (commensurate with experience) plus benefits, including two weeks' paid vacation. Fellows will receive intensive mentoring and close editing as they report on subjects such as Congress, the administration, national politics, lobbying and finance.

Fellows must remain for the duration of the program. Becoming a fellow does not guarantee later employment at POLITICO.

Qualifications

POLITICO will select from a diverse pool of applicants interested in working as Washington-based journalists covering Congress, lobbying, politics or one of several domestic policy areas. Candidates must have completed college or graduate school before the fellowship begins. They may have worked for up to two years at a professional news organization.

The 2017 application deadline is Oct. 30. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.
