At Pluralsight, Analytics Engineers are the irreplaceable bridge between Data Engineering and the deeply valuable insights derived from Analysts and Data Scientists across the organization.
How would you like to work on data using and building some of the tools that are critical to moving & transforming this data into valuable and insightful information? What about presenting that data in a way individuals can consume visually in a quick and easy manner? Analytics Engineers work very closely with all aspects of data, both internal and external, and they need the mindset to use a variety of tools and platforms to suitably move data across systems and build essential data sets needed to perform analysis.
The perfect applicant for this role will have a profound ability and willingness to guide others through the data and analytics infrastructure, as well as the skills that it takes to participate in the design and development of creative and innovative data solutions.
As an Analytics Engineer, you will:
Acquire structured and unstructured data and prepare the data for analysis. This includes cleansing and transforming the data, creating derived data attributes when needed, documenting and communicating key assumptions and caveats, and employing sound recommendations for handling missing data points
Use your ability as a “systems thinker” to proactively identify and transform suboptimal data for the purpose of maximizing derived insights and impact
Design, Architect and Develop data solutions to help product and business teams make data driven decisions
Interface closely with Analysts, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, as well as other operational teams within the business to create cross-functional relationships that help with the understanding of company data needs.
Develop deep understanding of data models – write queries and manage data transformation to enable analytics and reporting
Help analyze, visualize, and provide analytics on data to build reporting solutions to support various company initiatives
Extract patterns from a large datasets and transform data into an informational advantage
Support end users on ad hoc data usage
You’d be a great fit if your current track record looks like this:
Expertise with SQL and at least one programming language (PowerShell, Python, Perl etc.)
Knowledge of Adobe Analytics and Clickstream data feeds
Administration experience for data visualization tools such as Tableau, Domo, Looker, etc
Proficiency and experience with data visualization tools and/or languages
Strong foundation in Database Systems
Strong communication skills and willingness to take initiative to contribute beyond basic responsibilities
Experience with data warehousing architecture and data modeling best practices: Experience with Hadoop, Athena, Impala or Hive preferred
