Accounting Manager

We are looking for an experienced and energized accounting professional to oversee day-to-day accounting, and shape our accounting policies and infrastructure. We’re a rapidly growing start-up and we need an entrepreneurial bean-counter who has the skills and horsepower to scale with us.

You’re a licensed CPA and you know your accounting principals cold. When you don’t know the answer, you feel comfortable searching the Codification or accounting guides to find the perfect accounting treatment.  You have both public and private accounting experience and have been through an audit or two. From thinking about the long term finance needs for the company’s software infrastructure to the nitty gritty details of how to properly book an account adjustment in our general ledger platform, you’re ready for all types of challenges. You’re a self-starter and a good teacher—you enjoy coaching and leading others. You love coming to work every day. Most importantly, you care deeply about your team and adding value.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON EVERY DAY?

  • Mentoring and providing guidance to accounting team
  • Reviewing journal entries across all accounts
  • Running point on the audit and external tax work
  • Developing financial infrastructure needed for success, including purchased systems and PillPack’s PharmacyOS internal use pharmacy software
  • Staying informed on upcoming pronouncements, researching proper accounting treatment of new business lines, contracts, etc., defining and documenting accounting policies
  • Assisting accounting team with booking entries in the most precise and efficient manner
  • Analyzing, implementing and monitoring internal controls

WHAT SKILLS/EXPERIENCE DO I NEED IN THIS ROLE?

  • Bachelor’s degree in accountancy required, 6+ years of work experience, including managing others, with a mix of public and private accounting 
  • CPA and/or public audit background, a plus
  • Incredibly detail-oriented and results driven
  • Collaborative team player, while also capable of doing self-directed / self-initiated work
  • Experience with Intacct and systems implementations a plus
  • Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office
