Are you up to the challenge of leading the communications for Philips Hue - the world's highest profile smart home lighting system? Can you flawlessly devise and execute, integrated communications campaigns? Can you think up out-of-the box strategies that make media, bloggers and influencers sit up and take notice? Are you a communications expert with the gravitas to advise senior management, mentor staff, inspire and manage our global PR agency? Together we can...
You will report to the Global Head of Media and Industry Analyst Relations and have the support of a global PR agency. You will also work closely with the leader for B2C integrated communications in the US and integrated communications staff in other countries. Supporting you on employee communications is the communications manager for Business Group Home. You will also work closely with the digital and social media managers for Philips Hue. Collaborative working and leading by influence is essential.

You will be responsible to:

  • Lead the development of a full external communications strategy for Philips Hue, supporting and reinforcing the overall band reputation of Philips Hue and Signify as the world leader in lighting. Support the growth plans for Philips Hue and profile it as the world's No1 smart home lighting system.
  • Be the lead communicator for Philips Hue, working closely with the Business Group Home management team, its product, digital, social and marketing teams as well as Signify corporate communications.
  • Co-ordinate and lead B2C communications campaigns across Signify's markets for new products launches, innovations, themes and strategic partnerships - working with in-country communications professionals.
  • Contribute to the overall corporate communications strategy, providing a steady flow of content across traditional and digital channels.
  • Secure regular, planned background briefings and media engagements for key senior spokespeople targeting print, broadcast, on-line media and bloggers/influencers.
  • Think outside the box with a view to PR stunts, photo opportunities and viral social media campaigns.
  • Maintain close relationships with the business teams to identify and escalate any issues or potential crisis situations.
  • Support integrated marketing campaigns and industry events.
  • Devise innovative strategies to communicate Philips Hue internally to motivate and excite employees - working closely with the Business Group Home employee communications manager.
  • Manage budget allocations and relationships with external communications agencies.
  • Manage media briefings at major trade shows such as IFA in Berlin and CES in Las Vegas.
  • Drive and maintain a regular schedule of news announcements and communications campaigns to support planned sales efforts for Philips Hue product lines.
  • Work collaboratively with product managers, corporate communications, industry analyst relations, marcoms, digital/social, employee communications. Embrace our culture and work in an integrated fashion to achieve demonstrable success for the business and the company's corporate reputation.
  • Advise business leaders and staff on matters of communication.
You are...
A talented individual with:
  • Bachelor or Master's degree;
  • 8-10 years' working experience;
  • Previous experience of working in public relations within the consumer as well as technology space and up to date knowledge of latest technology industry developments;
  • Proven company spokesperson experience;
  • Ability to mentor staff and lead by influence;
  • Proven international experience in coordinating and disseminating communications campaigns across multiple geographies to achieve measurable results;
  • Preferably knowledge and relationships of global consumer lifestyle /lighting and technology trade media;
  • Experience in handling and advising senior executives on communications matters;
  • Highly skilled functional expert;
  • Understanding of the power and importance of integrated marketing;
  • Experience in using social media in B2C communications;
  • Is adaptive, collaborative, and executes flawlessly;
  • Delivers on commitments;
  • Communicates with impact;
  • Possesses strong leadership and team working skills;
  • Fluent in English and good writing skills in English.
