Job Description

Ø Mission:

Responsible for integration and release of electronical components, devices, systems and equipment like control devices, sensors, LED boards, complex systems … in luminaires and poles along the development and industrialization chain. Manages complete projects.

Ø Activities:

Product Development :

  • Analyze datasheet and technical requirements of electronics components and able to select or reject them regards to applications
  • Give input / feedback concerning feasibility for successful integration in luminaires and poles: mechanical, thermal, electrical… rules
  • Test and validate these components in luminaires or poles at pre-development stage
  • Propose or participate in writing of the Quality Test Plan for release
  • Participate or supervise the realization of the laboratory tests and act regards to results
  • Develop, test and supervise production apparatus and equipment to test product compliancy to norms or its own functioning on each product on production line
  • Write test benches specifications and production test procedure
  • Do luminaire and poles project management by carring out planning, budgets…
  • Create a database of components to gather all datasheet, test reports…
  • Monitor technological market developments and support competition and benchmarking activities to anticipate future needs
  • Plan the assigned activities in line with the overall project plan and ensure timely completion
  • Build component release process based on Philips Quality rules and ensure update
  • Safeguard the functionality, performance, reliability, safety, produce-ability of electronic modules using techniques like DfSS, tolerance analysis, DfA and FMEA
  • Ensure that Philips product will work with devices developed by others, can be made again reliably, and will perform consistently in specified operating environments
  • Support purchasing organization during project plan
  • Initiate and follow technical suppliers relationships and prototypes makers
  • Make a hand-over of project requirements to industrial teams
  • Work in cross-functional teams across departments
  • Discuss with partners (suppliers, Philips Global Systems) to have full understanding of functionality and be able to give feedback for systems/component improvements
  • Create user-friendly interfaces
  • May supervise technicians and other colleagues.
  • Inspect electronic equipment, instruments and systems to make sure they meet safety standards and applicable regulations

  • As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, contribute in providing information to other disciplines in an adequate and timely manner
  • Communicate clearly and pro-actively the support required to execute the allocated activities to team members

People management

  • As a member of a multi-disciplinary team contribute to establish an inspiring and challenging atmosphere and good working relationships
  • Give and ask for feedback in a respectful way enabling continuous improvement

Continuous improvement

  • Participate in continuous improvements in the way-of-working, tools, methods and product concepts
  • Incorporate the learning's from previous projects into new projects

Ø Required profile

  • Engineer in Electronics
  • at least 3 years' experience
  • Knowledge on lighting market components like sensor, control devices, different wireless communication and the way to integrate them luminaires and poles
  • Practical experience of testing electronics components (prototyping, testing)
  • Experience about lighting products
  • Knowledge with 1-10V, Dali, DMX controls
  • English language is required
