We have a dynamic and rewarding career opportunity for an off shift Welder in Latham, NY. The Latham MR Magnets facility is a manufacturing and development site for Magnetic Resonance Imaging magnets and other superconducting products used in Philips Magnetic Resonance Imaging and other customers. This site is part of the Magnetic Resonance Business Innovation Unit in Philips Healthcare
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary responsibilities of this position will be to assemble and weld MRI Magnets.

Working in a team you will successfully assemble a MRI Cryostat to very tight quality standards. In an environment with a focus on lean and continuous improvement your ideas will be solicited to help make improvements.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills education and experience:
Must have 1 year welding experience and experience using mechanical assembly tools.
Must be able to perform high quality tig welds and mig welds.
Must be able to perform high quality vacuum leak tight tig welds, on (aluminum).
Must perform cutting, bending, drilling, tapping, and similar operations as required to fabricate intricate assemblies encountered in cryogenic applications.
Must be able to read and understand drawings and supporting documents.
Must be able to use precision instruments.
Must be able to operate bridge cranes and forklift trucks.
Able to perform special assignments as required by the supervisor.
High School graduate or equivalent
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds.
Must be capable of climbing.
Must be capable of bending and twisting his or her body in various positions.
Must be capable of sitting or standing for long periods of time.
Must be able to use two hands and two feet to perform the tig welding process.
Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with his or her coworker during assembly procedures.
Must have good vision to control the size of the weld puddle to achieve high quality welds.
Must be able to read and write to follow our documentation assembly procedures and sign off documentation as required.
