In this role, you have the opportunity to

Actively drive integration across the E2E value chain by identifying key drivers of value and influencing others to work cross functionally to increase operational excellence and customer value.

You are responsible for

  • Ensuring that output of our warehouse and 3PL activities meets current and futuredemands, regulatory and service requirements and is delivered with competitive costs and speed to our customers
  • Establishing a responsive, agile supply chain, by translating supply chain strategy into processes and policies.
  • Initiates changes to supply chain management concepts in accordance with the customer requirements leading to continuous improvements across the E2E supply chain
  • Overseeing the implementation of new supply chain concepts, systems and processes (including Lean) within the requirements of the department
  • Overseeing and presents analyses of logistic data to support sales, production, outbound and purchasing and ensuring budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
  • Demonstrating understanding of the impact of total cost on operations. Analyzes cost drivers by systematically tracking data to identify cost savings
  • Budgeting & strategic planning to drive improvement & cost savings
  • Anticipates future transportation cost based on business changes in regards to volume, mode, and level of service
  • Work with internal and external teams on cost improvement projects in relation to transportation spend
  • Ensure all orders meet the on time and in full requirements for our customers
  • Monitor 3rd party KPIs and ensure adherence-including OTIF, prime tender acceptance, cost per mile, and cost per pound, first time right, on time ship, etc.
  • Establish relationships with the 3PL to execute a successful Q4 2019 and beyond

You are a part of

The Operations Team and we are looking for someone who will sit in our Lockbourne OH location.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in transportation/operations or business related field preferred
  • 5 plus years' work experience in managing a warehouse, commercial carriers and contracts
  • Possesses strong working knowledge of Supply Chain Management, including the underlying theories and concepts
  • Has a very strong understanding of products and services within the functional area, as well as the operational supply chain processes
  • Has a good understanding of E2E production cycles
  • Knowledge of Lean, value stream and process management to drive improvements and to solve complex problems in a supply chain environment.
  • Has a solid understanding of Customer needs
  • Adequate knowledge of the transportation industry trends and market rates including LTL, TL and Air freight
  • Experience with Freight Audit & Payment and Freight Cost Management experience
  • Project Management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects successfully
  • Proven ability to work and communicate cross functionally
  • Familiarity with business and financial principles and practices
  • Basic IT skills (databases, MS Office etc.) SAP a plus
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and 10% Travel may be required
