Your Challenge

Singapore is the headquarters of the ASEAN & Pacific market with a Philips Design team responsible to unlock new opportunities using design thinking driven by local insights.

The successful candidate will be experienced in all aspects of design process from people research to discover insights and user needs to defining opportunities, ideating and prototyping concepts for validation. Has strong client management and team work skills. Able to define suitable methodology and facilitate innovation. Preferably with an industrial design or user experience background, an understanding of Service-, Healthcare-, Environment design will be advantageous.

Your role description

As an Interaction Designer you are responsible to define the full user experience within a project: from translation user needs into interaction framework, creating user flows, wireframes and to build user interface mockups and prototypes. You setup up usability tests when relevant and guide external agencies in their work. At each stage, you will anticipate what our users need, advocate for them and ensure that the final product surprises and delights them. You use your knowledge and additional user data to create the best possible user experience and interaction design. You have a proactive and innovative mindset that allows you to create innovative and appropriate user experiences that solve our business’ and customer needs.

Your area of expertise includes setting directions for connected propositions, designing eco-systems of products and services, and new lines of (digital) business.

Your Responsibilities

Information architecture

Create information architectures and application flows (flowcharts).

Creating functional designs for application screens (wireframes).

Interface & usability

Apply and define (general) interface and interaction principles.

Define and apply general usability principles.

Content

Ability to deliver value-based content strategy through the right channels; includes creation and setting direction for seamless mobile, campaign, websites experiences etc.

Visual Design Skills

Crafting experiences, prototypes and demos that together create a great brand experience.

Use appropriate skills (sketching, prototyping and specification) to define and communicate interaction concepts.

Technical (hardware/software)

Identification and applying of digital technology opportunities and constraints.

Business modelling

Explore and create tangible vision and directions (scenario exploration) of experiences & eco systems beyond single product propositions.

Translate user needs, client requirements, technical realities, project aims, brand attributes and business needs into compelling propositions.

Innovation & Facilitation skills

Able to define, organize, manage and facilitate workshops to identify innovation opportunities based on research and analytical outcomes. Playing a lead role in developing design methodology, based on Philips Design and other relevant approaches, then able to facilitate design thinking with stakeholders.

Communicating & influencing skills

Use appropriate and effective communicating & influencing skills to build relationships with teams and key decision makers and achieve the best solutions.

We are looking for

  • Master / Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, product design or related design discipline (service design, UX design, Design Management)
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant working experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to demonstrate technical, creative and business understanding and insight
  • Knowledge of Design processes (e.g. Design Thinking, Cocreate)
  • Ability to gain knowledge of the (client’s) Brand identity
  • Strong, linear analytical skills
  • Able to adapt and thrive within an fast paced multicultural business environment
  • Professionally ambitious, self motivated and able to work independently
  • Realistic and pragmatic
  • Creative and original
  • Team player
