POSITION SUMMARY:This position is responsible for helping to drive the communication strategies for the North American market. This individual’s role will be primarily focused on implementing innovative, strategic public relations programs that drive awareness and preference of Philips and help position the company as a leader in the health tech space. S/he will be responsible for aligning corporate and business group communication strategies with the goal of establishing and maintaining a leadership position for the business and competitive differentiation in the market. S/he will create ongoing relationships with key audiences: customers, potential customers, employees, government influencers, the media community and the consumer (as applicable) in order to establish a strong presence for the organization.S/he will help manage the public relations agency to produce optimal results.
POSITION PROFILE:The company and Global Integrated Communications is putting a priority on the development of global integrated communications while also ensuring the success of the day-to-day communications in all the key segments and markets in which it competes. The focus of this position is to support and communicate the North American vision and strategy, drive awareness and competitive differentiation and manage PR programs.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES S/he will manage execution of a communication plan including programs, press releases, presentations, customer success stories, contributed articles, speaking engagements, awards, events, executive training and preparedness and issues management. Be instrumental in implementing a market comms plan that can be leveraged to support business units, as well as business group and group press office goals in support of the Philips brand. Collaborate with marketing, sector and corporate comms managers on driving external components of product launch plans, including messaging, timing, and media relations.Align/integrate best practices; create/maintain processes for public relations reporting and work with global PR team to ensure consistent localization of messaging. Manage network of relationships to create stories that drive interest and demonstrate how we are delivering on our brand promise. Help manage crisis communications for the market with executives, employees, and press in the event of an emergency.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: 10- + years public relations experience (both agency and client is strongly preferred) preferably in healthcare or related field BS or equivalent in Communications, MBA preferred Proven and documented accomplishment in the development and execution of public relations programs, Thought Leadership, collaboration, and communication. Ability to work with executive and senior management; excellent negotiation, influencing and presentation skills. Agency/vendor resource management and maintenance of internal operational procedures and processes that support external communications programs. This position will function in a highly matrixed organization. As such, it will require expertise in collaborating across teams, strategic influencing and use of data to support recommendations.
