In this role, you have the opportunity to

Coordinate and monitor the production of assembly workers on the first shift (6:45 am-3:15 pm), as directed by the work center management. As well, taking responsibility for the quality of the products produced, the production yield and the timeliness of the deliveries.

You are responsible for

  • Training, teaching and coaching workmanship quality on all work that is completed
  • Leading projects as assigned by management
  • Setting up the assembly line daily, for the first shift group and staying after shift ends to complete tasks
  • Giving a brief overview of the day's work to the first shift staff at the start of the shift
  • Preparing work appraisals and providing input to the supervisors
  • Responding to and resolving daily production issues
  • Actively participating in one or more improvement teams
  • The ability to work overtime on weekends is an essential function of this first shift (6:45AM – 3:15PM) position.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • H.S. or GED required (college degree a plus)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading people in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and Outlook as well as standard office computers and equipment
  • Experience with SAP (or another ERP system); must have the ability to interpret information, check documentation and revisions
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Physical Requirements; this position requires the ability to move on a continuous basis in order to efficiently get to other work areas, frequent lifting up to 40 pounds, occasional lifting up to 70 pounds, ability to reach and ability to use fine manipulation skills. May also need to access above the level of a standard 54 inch file cabinet
  • 2+ years of assembly experience (a plus)
