In this position, you ensure quality by design through the application of team leadership, project management, process ownership and being the voice of our customers. With your leadership expertise you coach a team of highly skilled test and product support engineers to develop and support our Technology Solutions. You deliver value to internal customers by combining domain knowledge and a deep understanding of workflows and processes.

You are responsible for

  • Leading a team which manages solution lifecycle including development based on customer requirements, ongoing validation & global market support and EOL.
  • Generate technical input and relevant tradeoff information for product selection, prioritization and resourcing.
  • Leadership, development, training, performance management, hiring, termination and professional growth of the Technology Solutions Verification & Validation Team (5 direct reports);
  • Impact efficiency and effectiveness of key processes;
  • Application of project management principles and practices;
  • Application and improvement of V&V processes, including requirements elicitation, translating requirements into specifications with internal and external stakeholders, and verifying 3rd party products for compatibility with Philips medical devices and systems;
  • Making things happen by encouraging and channeling the contributions of others; recognizing and addressing important issues in a timely manner, and acting as an agent for change and continuous improvement when required to achieve results;
  • Leveraging available resources and capabilities to execute and achieve defined goals;
  • Providing throughput forecast (up to 18-mos at a high level)based on historical analysis ad capacity planning;
  • Negotiating with internal and external stakeholders including shared resources to ensure positive response and agreement, striving for win-win situations;
  • Problem solving and attention to details;
  • Serving as the spokesperson for V&V team in (senior) management updates and design control review meetings as well as audits and with external suppliers;
  • Continuous improvement of our Technology Solutions Processes: work with our quality and regulatory teams as well as external vendors to ensure compliance of activities with applicable regulatory standards and Philips Quality Management Systems.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
  • Bachelors in Engineering or relevant equivalent technical experience
  • Experience in a comparable leadership role, e.g. Lead of a Development Group or equivalent
  • Experience successfully managing multiple development projects with external and internal resources
  • Experience interfacing with Quality & Regulatory function, multiple internal groups as process owner & subject matter expert
  • Working with product management and senior management to define project scope and justification for new projects; working with V&V team and cross-functional management for resource planning and requirements;
    • Developing and maintaining project plans, schedules and budgets and presenting project status updates;
    • Managing project risks, proactively developing mitigation plans and resolving problems impacting project completion, escalating to management when necessary.
    • Improving product quality and customer satisfaction through continuous product and process improvement while maintaining regulatory compliance.
