This position is located at our Nashville, Tennessee office and is responsible for placing purchase orders to the factory and transactional updates to orders. Additional responsibility is for order integrity and timely proactive communication with internal and external customers to efficiently resolve any order issues. To perform this job successfully an individual must be highly organized, customer service focused, and become a subject matter expert within the Philips' Order Desk Commercial Operations team.

You are responsible for (but not limited to)

  • Review and maintain customer documentation including order packet, purchase orders, and quotes, to ensure order compliance
  • Partner with Sales Order Acquisition team and Order Management Specialist to help guarantee high level of service for timely and accurate deliveries
  • Effectively sets priorities in order to meet commitments and established departmental goals
  • Act as the primary contact between factories and vendors to resolve any PO related issues
  • Manage and escalate order issues to provide optimum customer satisfaction
  • Validate and process approved change orders within 48 hours
  • Process Inventory transfers to help maximize inventory
  • Provide order and process information as requested
  • Utilizing reporting tools for daily placement of purchase orders in SAP to Philips factories and third party vendors including technical review and configuration of orders in Siebel
  • Ensures process and procedures are followed but adapt as more efficient ways of working are implemented
  • Complies with Quality Standards and Philips' standards of business conduct
  • Stay current on required and/or assigned training courses within required/established departmental time frames
  • Active participant in LEAN initiatives through completion of Quick and Easy Kaizen initiatives &/or formal continuous improvement programs
  • Other duties and requirements as required

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and or relevant business experience preferred
  • Global logistics/transportation with export/import experience is preferred.
  • 2+ years of Supply Chain related business experience is preferred
  • 2+ years of business systems experience (ex: SAP/ ERP systems, MS Office, Siebel) & Quality Management systems (ICS Control, SOX etc.) preferred.
  • Possess excellent verbal, written, and the ability to communicate clearly with both internal and external customers
  • Ability to think critically, demonstrate "outside the box" thinking, and meet time sensitive deadlines for customers and resolution of escalated issues
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline driven collaborative team environment.
  • Positive, self-starting, flexible and forward-thinking individual with strong organizational skills who can work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Complies with Philips' quality standards, business conduct, and all established processes are followed
