In this role, you have the opportunity to
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Environment Health & Safety (EH&S), this position will support the EH&S needs of the Philips Andover, MA site. The goal of the EH&S department is to minimize impact to the environment and protect the health and safety of employees. This is primarily a safety related job with additional environmental duties.
You are responsible for
Assist in maintaining documentation, data, and records related the site's OHSAS 18001 certification. Will be the lead during internal and external OHSAS 18001 safety management system audits for the site.
Ensuring OSHA compliance with general safety programs deemed applicable to the site including, Asbestos, Radiation, Lasers, Electrical, Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communication, Confined Space, Hearing Conservation, Coordination of Industrial Hygiene Monitoring, Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE), Laboratory Safety and other general safety management system and risk control programs.
Collaborate with other members of the EHS staff on shared programs including; Inspections, Contractor Reviews, New Equipment Reviews, EHS Sustainability Team, New Hire orientations and other necessary trainings.
Contribute to the development and implementation of training materials and conducting class room style training as necessary.
Participate in injury/near miss investigations, root cause analysis and development of corrective actions.
Will be an alternate site emergency coordinator. In this role, you will be required to deal with site emergencies that may occur outside of normal work hours.
The expectations of this role will be dedicated to hands on factory interaction focused on risk reduction, job hazard analysis, training, safety observations and support and expansion of the incident and injury free safety culture.
The primary location for EHS support will be the Andover, Massachusetts site, but some level of support maybe required for other remote Philips sites.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Bachelor's degree in environmental, health and safety or related scientific discipline with minimum of 5 years of EH+S experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with development and management of EH&S data, training, and written programs.
Excellent communication skills, including oral and written.
Experience with OHSAS18001 or OSHAs VPP is desirable.
Computer literacy including proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly excel. SharePoint experience is desirable.
Ability to respond rapidly and effectively to changing requirements on short notice.
Personal qualities of flexibility, integrity, and confidentiality.
Acts in a professional manner by approaching others in a tactful manner; reacting well under pressure; treating others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; accepting responsibility for own actions, following through on commitments.
Strong leadership qualities and the ability to complete assignments with minimal supervisory oversite.
