Your Challenge

The Development Engineering Project Manager will manage the development of innovative solutions to meet our customer and business needs with an emphasis on developing new products for MRI applications.

Your Responsibilities

In this role as Development Engineering Project Manager, you will be responsible for working with cross-functional resources across the business and external suppliers on the full range of development from feasibility studies to stable production.

You will be responsible for achieving new product performance, reliability, cost and schedule goals. As the global headquarters for Philips RF Coils, our primary engineering focus is RF coils for MR. However, we continue to expand our portfolio of clinical solutions beyond coils. Unique to this location is the face to face interaction with nearly all functional leaders to meet common business goals – Finance, Quality and Regulatory, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Service, Repair, Shipping/Receiving, Logistics, etc, are all located at our Gainesville, FL, office.

This person will be working in our Product Development group within Philips Healthcare, located in our Gainesville, FL, facility. This person will get to work with the best engineers in medical imaging and develop MRI solutions that are helping to save lives every day all over the world. We are looking for

Requirements:

  • PMI Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) Required
  • Experience coaching and mentoring of junior project leaders/managers
  • Formal education, training and experience as Project Manager:

You will be responsible for coaching and mentoring engineering project leaders to raise the Product Development Department Project Management competency

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 5 years of product design and development experience, specifically in:
  • design for manufacturability
  • cost reduction
  • reliability improvement
  • business case rationalization
  • Product Lifecycle Data Management experience, such as Agile, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent PLDM systems

Preferences:

  • Medical device development experience: IEC, UL, FDA, EU regulatory compliance
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface with customers, vendors and engineers from different disciplines
  • A self-starter, highly motivated with good organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent team player that works effectively with cross functional and cross site teams
  • Excellent analytical skills
