ROLE SUMMARY

The Digital Finance organization creates, configures, and runs digital products, platforms, and solutions that support Pfizer's core finance business functions such as Financial Consolidations, Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting, Treasury, Tax, Compliance, Internal, and External Reporting.

Sr. Associate role is a hands-on technical role responsible for supporting the Treasury, Compliance, Audit and Investor Relations reporting data transformations in both on-premise and AWS cloud platforms and delivering proof of concepts, development projects and/or maintenance projects.

Pfizer seeks a candidate that understands the finance function and financial reporting applications to solve business problems. The candidate is highly self-motivated, eager to explore new technologies, and effective when working in a team environment. A strong aptitude for self-development and growth is highly desired.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze business requirements and provide recommendations for building scalable solutions to meet security functional and non-functional requirements

  • Build and operationalize solutions  

  • Partner with the support team to troubleshoot and diagnose system issues

  • Assist with the transition of all new applications into the support model

  • Drive operational efficiencies through continuous improvements

  • Develop automation to eliminate repetitive manual tasks and allow time for more meaningful work

  • Support Project Managers in the delivery of development solutions, project milestone tracking & providing program-related deliverables/updates to project sponsors, as well as project budget tracking

  • Support Change Management activities for projects, including email communications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with three years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree with one year of relevant experience; OR Associate's degree with six years of relevant experience; OR eight years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent

  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience working in development and/or support teams

  • 1 year of demonstrated experience with AWS Technology

    • Understanding of core AWS Services, Architecture, and Best Practices

    • Experience in Developing, Deploying, and Debugging AWS Cloud-based applications

    • Ability to use the cloud services

  • Exposure to database technologies and ETL Tools

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Spark, PySpark, or JavaScript

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management capabilities

  • Strong interpersonal skills in building customer relationships

  • Ability to work independently and or in a global team setting across time zones

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pharmaceutical life science domain experience

  • Project Management experience

  • Exposure to Finance reporting applications

  • Familiar with SDLC/Agile methodologies

  • Exposure to Visualization tools (Spotfire/Tableau/MicroStrategy)

  • AWS certification

  

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • The job will require working with global teams and applications. A flexible working schedule will be needed on occasion to accommodate planned agile sprint planning and system releases and unplanned/on-call level 3 support.

  • Potential post-pandemic travel required for critical project work < 10%

  • Work Location Assignment: hybrid schedule of at least 2 days in person on premise, depending on business needs.
