Service Specialist

Overview

PepsiCo, the industry leader in Snacks and Beverages, has an opening for a Fleet Compliance & Maintenance Specialist. The PepsiCo fleet is one of the top ten largest private fleets with equipment in the light, medium, and heavy-duty classes. Key partnerships with sales and logistics teams are vital in providing a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Execution of preventative maintenance and outside vendor service on company-owned assets.
  • Ensure Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance for local, state, and federal safety standards
  • Proactively review and maintain all DVIR/eVCR reports and compliance to DOT specifications from externally maintained locations
  • Initiate and sustain a high level of communication with all field customers
  • Work in partnership with Virtual Expert Trainers (VETs) and regional leadership on review of the estimates and approval process for all outside vendor repairs
  • Utilize diagnostic tools (Geotab, Uptake, and asset history) with available information to execute the best possible repair decision within a timely manner
  • Communicate and align with customers for out-of-service assets and potential rental asset needs
  • Proactively source and maintain vendor partnerships to ensure quality, reliable, and cost-effective work
  • Maintain professionalism with all customers and vendors
  • Manage all initiated work orders to completion utilizing department-specific tools and systems
  • Assist field customers in emergency or roadside incidents
  • Additional duties as assigned by Manager

Scope of Interactions:

  • 50% External - New and existing suppliers
  • 50% Internal - Collaboration with fleet teams, operations teams, and operators

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor preferred
  • Knowledge of mechanical work and ability to balance repair time, costs, and business needs
  • Superb organizational, communication, and analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with suppliers and key stakeholders in a professional and constructive manner
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to formulate effective action plans to deal with issues proactively
  • Collaborate with peers to balance daily workloads and support the business
  • Willingness to embrace change and all other assigned duties for the greater good of the team
  • Produce/review various performance reports to drive results
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Flexible and able to work under pressure to balance competing priorities with strong organizational skills. Able to manage several tasks simultaneously
  • Proactively work to organize, respond to needs and anticipate what is needed by the individuals for whom they support
  • Resolve vendor maintenance billing issues. Work closely with local fleet and vendor teams for resolution
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Must have a team/collaboration-based approach to decision making
  • Must have a "Can Do" attitude with a willingness to assist others in completing activities as needed

Essential Skills / Experiences:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a fleet/transportation/logistics role, with vendor coordination or fleet mechanic experience
  • Manage communications through phone, email, fax, mail, etc.
  • Advanced/Proficient Computer Skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and maintenance management system
  • Strong passion for customer service and fleet excellence
  • Ability to effectively interact and build favorable business relationships with field fleet teams, operations teams, and other key stakeholders
  • Strong team player and committed to teamwork in all situations
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage systems and tools
  • Must have good interpersonal skills to interact/contribute to the team and professionally communicate with others.
  • Travel - 5%

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $50,400 -$75,550 based on a full-time schedule
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement
