Summary of Position:

The Digital Strategist is responsible in developing, leading and executing digital capability strategies to evolve pep’s capabilities and deliver against goals and objectives. Primary focus will include a mix of established and emerging digital marketing tactics such as sweepstakes, consumer rewards, websites, digital coupons, mobile rebates, digital media, influencer marketing, augmented reality and voice activation. You will deliver digital marketing expertise across the internal teams and external stakeholders from Discovery through Commercialization. You will work closely with our pepNext team to support scouting for new digital capabilities. Manage key stakeholder relationships across the business to understand and solve business problems through digital technology.

In addition, you will engage with suppliers and handle procurement activities to support our growing digital business. This position will play a key role in growing pep’s overall capabilities and business.

Key Responsibilities and Attributes:

Strategy:

  • Accountable for developing and executing a strategic approach to source digital services which deliver against client and company goals
  • Embed excellence in category management across the category including sourcing, cost management, contract management, supplier relationship and development management, and value delivery
  • Identify and provide conflict resolution and solutions to challenges and issues within the digital category

Business & Supplier Engagement:
  • Understand the digital marketing industry and promotional marketing supplier base to identify, consult and recommend digital marketing solutions to clients Work collaboratively with client leadership, sales and other key stake holders to deliver benefits within sourcing, cost management, supplier relationship management, supplier development and innovation.
  • Responsible for identifying, qualifying and implementing new supplier partners in the industry that will continue to meet business needs
  • Responsible for overall supplier relationship and performance management of KPIs within the supply base
  • Collaborate with client services team and sales to recommend digital marketing programs by consulting and advising digital solutions
  • Responsible for conducting RFIs, RFPs, negotiations, contracts and various supplier agreements with supplier partners
  • Extremely organized and communicates well with others across various divisions within the company
  • Collaborate and proactively meet with project managers and process champions to improve and streamline processes that provide value and efficiency

Essential Experience:
  • Bachelors in Business or Communication; or a minimum of 7+ years within sourcing, digital promotion marketing experience and/or production.
  • Significant digital marketing experience
  • Comfortable being client facing
  • Ability to mentor, grow and work harmoniously as part of a larger team
  • Ability to effectively problem solve
  • Effectively utilizes staff including delegating as appropriate
  • Ability to manage healthy business processes
  • Proven ability to lead change

  • Preferred, but not required: Bachelors in Business or Communication a 2.8+ GPA from four-year college or university; or Minimum 18 months of applicable business experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals as well as operate internal, online systems
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to be client facing
  • Ability to mentor, grow and work harmoniously as part of a larger team
  • Ability to do intermediate-level math (calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages)
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Effectively utilizes staff including delegating as appropriate
  • Ability to manage healthy business processes
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel. Typing skills should be a minimum of 55 wpm
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
