Summary of Position:

The Application Developer is responsible for program enhancements and bug fixes for pepConnect, pep's proprietary web application that acts as a "one stop shop" for successful promotion execution. Will also provide support in pepConnect database management as necessary. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following.

Key Responsibilities and Attributes:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain good coding practices
  • Maintain documentation on all code changes
  • Provide input on technology issues
  • Design, build, test and implement the software code required by pep
  • Design the logic that delivers the requested functionality
  • Provide avenue for future enhancements
  • Be able to work well in a fast-paced team environment
  • Other duties assigned as needed

Preferred, but not required: Bachelors in Information Technology a 2.8+ GPA from four-year college or university; or Minimum 2+ years of applicable software development experience

Technical Experience:
  • Microsoft Visual Studio
  • ASP.NET/C#, MS LINQ to SQL, WPF Web Services, AJAX
  • JavaScript, CSS, HTML
  • MS Transact-SQL & SQL Server
  • Telerik UI for ASP.NET AJAX
  • SVN
  • HTML5
  • JQuery

Additional:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals as well as operate internal, online systems
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to be client facing
  • Ability to mentor, grow and work harmoniously as part of a larger team
  • Ability to do intermediate-level math (calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages)
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Effectively utilizes staff including delegating as appropriate
  • Ability to manage healthy business processes
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel. Typing skills should be a minimum of 55 wpm
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
