Job Title: Associate Consumer Activation Lead (Consumer Promotions)

Acts as a business partner between Consumer Activation Manager and pep Account

Executive to ensure program development and project management process is delivering on time, on budget, and on strategy promotions.

Program Development

  • Understand promotion vehicles and the impact they have on greater brand marketing strategy (example: FSI, Catalina)
  • Provide strategic counsel on promotion details including but not limited to: market list, coupon values, number of coupon offers, etc.
  • Communicate executional recommendations based on knowledge of retailer requirements and preferences
  • Consult on success metrics to analyze the effectiveness of the promotion
  • Consult with brand on creative brief development to ensure alignment with desired outcome.
  • Support CAM in initiating executional detail reports, work with Pep AE to provide to e-marketplace and maintain live EDR with up-to-date details
  • Billing management and processing through e-marketplace
  • Provide approval of Pep AE timelines
  • Partner with procurement on vendor selection and program contracts
  • Provide ongoing and open communication of consumer promotion plan details to brand, sales strategy, finance, and procurement.
  • Utilize industry expertise to develop programs with client and suppliers to assure that program requirements meet legal and policy guidelines/requirements
  • Communicate executional recommendations based on knowledge of retailer requirements and preferences
  • Stay up-to-date on the state of the industry as well as consumer promotions trends, including an understanding of the digital and e-commerce space

Project Management:

  • Assist in confirming project cost estimates that support budget planning.
  • Collaborate with Pep AE to provide monthly budget reconciliations to CAM
  • Communicate recommendations that allow customers to reduce costs and/or reduce cycle time on marketing promotions
  • Collaborate with CAM, brand, agencies, and sales strategy to drive timely decisions and ensure complete program execution is seamless and flawless
  • Assist in the establishment and development of processes/procedures
  • Work with Pep team to identify opportunities to drive scale, efficiencies, and reduce redundancy.
  • Identify process gaps and make recommendations to address

Personnel Management of Assigned Direct Reports Include:

  • Attend leadership meetings
  • Establish and maintain bi-weekly 1:1 meetings with each Direct Report in order to provide direct supervision and career guidance
  • Maintain personnel file for each Direct Report
  • Monitor and Report on Gap Tracker progress for each Direct Report
  • Provide timely Performance Reviews for each Direct Report
  • Communicate "Leadership by Committee" Concept: all AE's are led by all leaders

Associate Consumer Activation Lead Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) with a 2.8+ GPA from four-year college or university or three to five years related consumer promotions experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to excellently organize, manage time, and communicate orally and in writing
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
  • Ability to demonstrate internal leadership and collaborate to deliver projects to clients with agreed upon scope
  • Ability to mentor, grow, and work harmoniously as part of a larger team
  • Ability to provide excellent people leadership to direct reports

Mathematical Skills:

The Associate Consumer Activation Lead should have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability:

The Associate Consumer Activation Lead should have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral or diagram form. The Account Supervisor should have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform the Associate Consumer Activation Lead job successfully, an individual should have experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Typing skills should be a minimum of 55 wpm.
