Design custom capital equipment and support R&D programs to enable cutting edge solar cell technology and production factories.

The Design Engineering team is looking for a senior level Electrical Engineer who is technically savvy and is excited about improving our tools, systems and business processes. You will support the design build and test of custom solar and/or semiconductor capital equipment as well as R&D programs for future technologies. This will be accomplished for internal and external customers, utilizing internal and external engineering organizations. Given the wide range of responsibility, we are looking for someone eager to learn, lead, and design systems to enable record breaking solar technology. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing professional electrical engineering research, design, development, modification, debugging, testing and evaluation in support of electrical and electro-mechanical systems/subsystems, embedded systems, control systems, and AC/DC power systems.
  • Define and develop the system control architecture, electrical schematics, and ensure that system is safety compliant.
  • Maintain detailed and organized documentation around all engineering activities
  • Write and present designs, test plans, and results.
  • This position may range from designing/creating an electrical schematic from scratch, modification of, and/or working with internal or external partners to develop the final designs/schematics.
  • As a lead, you will be responsible for all activities around electrical design and development including: architecture, machine design codes and regulations, safety, testing, and implementation.

Required Education, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Advanced degree in Electrical, Software or Systems Engineering with 8? 15 years of industry experience.
  • Machine and Robot Motion Control with dedicated Motion Controller and built in DeviceNET, SERCOS and Synqnet driver interface.
  • An understanding of tool systems and controls, including motion control, industrial interfaces (DeviceNet, serial communications, Ethernet, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of SEMI (S2, S8, S22, and F47), NFPA79, NEC, and UL standards.
  • Experience in AC and DC Electrical Distribution in full compliance with SEMI S2/S8, SEMI S22 and SEMI F47 standards.
  • Electrical and Control system documentation, including System Schematics, Wiring Diagrams, BOM, Control Enclosure Layout, Power and Interlock Schematics.
  • Technical expertise in the design of robotics and automation capital equipment.
  • Thorough understanding of system design requirements for solar and/or semiconductor industries and equipment.
  • Exposure to both development and manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with managing engineering projects that involve multiple engineering teams which are not co-located.
  • Proven successful hands on experience in electrical design of complex systems, control of complex systems, and AC/DC power systems.
  • Experienced in AutoCAD required.
  • 5-10% travel required.
  • Excellent communication skills and positive attitude required.
