Quality/Process Engineer

We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer who is well-versed in putting quality processes in place and data gathering/analytics to ensure successful product testing.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Resolve quality issues for both NPD projects and regular products coming from our vendors or sister plants
  • Create an efficient feedback system between QC and Supply Chain departments to document and communicate quality related issues
  • Put a quality structure in place for QC department that ranges from defining standard work instructions for personnel and Returned Goods Authorization processes to developing an effective vendor communication program
  • Develop sampling plans for incoming lighting fixtures by applying statistical methods--strong with analysis
  • Work with appropriate managers to ensure timely resolution of quality issues
  • Develop supplier assessment checklist/tools and quality alerts for NPD projects and regular products
  • Conduct root cause analysis and process improvements to prevent recurrence of quality concerns--objective is to automate production plant

Preferred Requirements:
  • Bachelor' s degree in technology or engineering (Preferably Industrial/process engineering)
  • Two to five years of experience in manufacturing/quality field
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts such as 5S, Kaizen, and Poka Yoke
  • Working knowledge of problem solving tools such as fish bone diagram, 5 whys, and statistical analysis
  • Ability to analyze data using Mini-tab/Excel to realize the trends and find solutions
  • Ability to read blue prints and drawing
  • Ability to manage teams and lead improvement projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft office
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP-Business one) is a big plus
  • Familiarity with lighting is a big plus
  • Familiarity with UL lighting standards is a plus
  • Six sigma green belt is a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish)
