Purchasing Manager

The qualified individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Purchasing Department including the development of a high level strategic vision for direct and indirect commodities and the management and execution of such strategies at the tactical level. This person will; monitor and ensure departmental personnel conform to company policies and procedures while maintaining a safe and cost efficient environment at all time; develop and employ techniques/methods for effective problem solving and continuous improvement plans with goals, measures, resources, and time lines; develop and manage several projects simultaneously; work with multiple departments to ensure that the Purchasing Department is meeting the company objectives of cost, quality and delivery of products and services in support of customer requirements; optimize the supply chain management processes and practices in alignment with the company efforts in this area; lead sourcing activities including driving supplier selection process, developing sourcing strategies to ensure flexibility and supply assurance, and performing supplier financial, capacity and technology analysis within the confines of the Group procedures and practices.

Job Requirements:
Experience working with and proficiency using an MRP based computer system

Intermediate to advanced proficiency of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other office software tools

Advanced ability in math and computer skills.

Must have outstanding oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work and communicate with all levels of an organization within a fast paced environment and successfully balance multiple tasks and projects concurrently.

Capable of balancing high inventory turns and with lowering the total procurement cost through the alignment of a value-added supply base in a lean production environment

Successfully transition products or services within the supply base without any disruption in maintaining customer schedules or company objectives

Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present business cases during supplier negotiations and meetings that properly represent the company' s position on quality, delivery, and competitive requirements.

Bachelors Degree required.

CPM, CPIM, or CSCM certification preferred.

A minimum of five to eight years (5-8) years experience in a manufacturing and assembly environment performing similar duties. Experience in the aerospace industry is preferred.
