  • Responsible for the production of molds used in the casting process, as well as the cores utilized within the molds.
  • Sets up all molding machines and machines used in the core production process.
  • Cleans and assembles cores as needed.
  • Follows department schedules to ensure timely flow of products to other areas within the Foundry.
  • Performs limited preventative maintenance on core/molding machines.
  • Keeps work area clean.
  • Follows all company and departmental safety procedures.

Necessary Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated application of team and communication skills, company and departmental safety procedures, and a thorough understanding of applicable ISO procedures and work instructions.
  • Certifications of the setup and operations of all core and molding machines used in the production of molds.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of core cleaning, dipping, and assembly.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform required maintenance on machine assigned.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the departmental scheduling system.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate all equipment necessary for the effective flow of materials through the department.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the utilization of carts used to store and move molds.
  • Ability to transfer shells ranging in weight from 10 to 125 lbs. and ability to transfer from one cart to another.
