Forensic/Investigative Engineer

We are seeking a Forensic / Investigative Engineer who will perform all engineering related aspects of new and existing assignments, including producing high quality and client ready work products and meeting project requirements. The candidate will join a skilled team working on a variety of construction projects in the New York metropolitan area.


  • Provide supporting forensic engineering services on new and existing assignments as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including, but not limited to, preparing work papers, drafting client deliverables and working within established time and budget.
  • Engage in engineering investigations and studies regarding, but not limited to, site visits to monitor work in progress, audits of payment requisitions for contract work completed, quality assurance and quality control audits of areas such as special inspections, review of change orders for contract compliance, accuracy and completeness, inappropriate material submission or substitution, procurement reviews, prevailing wage interviews and performance of field investigations.
  • Interact with owners and their representatives as well as personnel from construction management firms and general contractors.
  • May also conduct interviews of contractors and their employees, as needed to support investigations or team activities.
  • Travel, as needed, to support assignments (up to 75% travel expectation).

  • Associates Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management; a Bachelor' s Degree is preferred.
  • Require a minimum of 2 years of experience in the areas of engineering, inspections, construction management, architecture, construction audit/integrity monitoring or other construction related fields.
  • Related experience in the safety, environmental and mass transit (NYC Transit, NJ Transit, Port Authority) sectors are considered a plus.
  • Construction and/or project management skills are highly desired.
  • Experience working on capital construction projects and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations of the City of New York is considered a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, team player, self-motivated and possess strong technical, analytical, and communications skills (both verbal and written).
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (" CFE") desirable.
  • Certifications such as ACI, LEED AP considered a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 Professional Project Management is considered a plus.
    Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.
