Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing and evaluating concepts in the automotive industry and other our client' s customer departments.
  • Analyze, evaluate, design and verify new concepts in development of wet clutch friction material.
  • Develop new tests for improved performance, durability and cost of wet clutch friction material.
  • Conducting internal and customer development projects for improvement of wet clutch performance primarily focusing on torque converter clutches (TCCs).
  • Optimization of slip control and engagement strategy of TCCs in vehicles.
  • Present technical proposals on wet clutch development to customers.
  • Participate in internal training exercises/technical exchanges.
  • Operate data acquisition equipment using our client' s customer' s package software, vibration theory, simulation methodology, stress and fatigue analysis, and heat; recommend and implement improvements in acquisition, analysis, and simulation techniques of wet clutch response from test stands and vehicles.
  • Use understanding of current specifications of the quality policy and procedures and contribute to the achievement of the quality objectives.

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or as a mechanical engineer intern or researcher in engineering analysis and/or nonlinear dynamics and demonstrated experience in vibration theory, simulation methodology and nonlinear dynamics and automotive drivetrain.
  • A Master' s degree and 2 years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a bachelor' s degree and 5 years of experience.
  • Experience may be gained concurrently or as part of education curriculum.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit at a work station for extended periods.
