Contracts, Closeout Specialist

Under the guidance of and directly reporting to the Contracts Department Head, primary duties are to closeout DoD Type Contracts (CPFF, T & M, FFP, etc.)

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as focal point for all contractual closeout communications including USG customer contact pertaining to assigned contracts designated for closeout
  • Interact professionally with company internal departments (Finance, Contracts, Legal, Subcontracts, Property, Quality, etc.) to obtain necessary signoffs and approvals for final resolution of Contract Closeouts
  • Develop and execute plans to negotiate and resolve contractual closeout matters
  • Ensure that company is fully compliant with all Federal Acquisition Regulations
  • Follow company Contracts Closeout written processes, and make recommendations for Process Improvements
  • Document retention - Maintain excellent records of contract closeout records, including Final Vouchers
  • Reports - Track progress and provide management with weekly and monthly reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Background
  • U.S. Person (U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Green Card holder) required due to ITAR
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor' s Degree in Business Administration, Legal or related field preferred
  • 4-6 years of experience in Defense Contracts required
  • Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, USG and procurement processes
  • Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) required
  • Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives
  • Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products
  • Is committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the company
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Demonstrates strong computer skills and proficiency with office software, productivity tools and other software tools on one' s area of expertise
  • Ability to work in an office (Constant)
  • Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Constant)
  • Ability to travel (Occasional)
