CNC Multi Turret Lathe Machinist - 4th Shift

Work Environment

Possible exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Employees will be provided uniforms and safety gear.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop proficiency on CNC machines required by specific department
  • Work under direct and regular supervision, receive detailed instructions on new work
  • Apply basic skills and begin to develop advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, equipment, etc.
  • Troubleshoot issues and work with appropriate resources (i.e. Engineering, Supervisor, Inspection, etc.) to resolve production related issues
  • Effectively manage time to meet production needs/schedules
  • Exhibit flexibility, understanding, and willingness to change priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Hold tight tolerances for critical components using various gaging equipment
  • Start up and prepare machines for production using the warm up program
  • Operate machines and train production operators to maintain production standards
  • Identify and change worn tools when necessary
  • Produce quality component parts by managing time, reading blueprints, interpreting shop math and running operations on various machines
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are followed

Physical Demands:
  • Required to lift 20lbs on occasion
  • Visual acuity to inspect small defects, operate machines, use measuring devices, and complete assembly/fabrication of small parts
  • Manual dexterity to move hands and arms to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects


Required Education:
  • High School diploma or GED


Preferred Education and Experience:
  • 3+ years experience as a CNC operator
  • Certification from technical school
