The Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for driving end to end service excellence across our Global Source to Pay Team. This person will be accountable for executing the sourcing strategy and events for assigned categories of spend (Technology, Labor, Marketing, etc.) in North America, and in some instances, globally. This position is part of the PayPal Global Sourcing Team, which oversees $2.5Billion+ in global spend of indirect products and services, supporting all business units within the company. With staff currently located in three countries around the world, we partner closely with business unit partners, legal, compliance, and FP&A to minimize risk and maximize operational and financial value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Global Sourcing Team and Business Managers, to understand strategic direction, demand requirements/business objectives, and priorities for sourcing activities
  • Lead and complete sourcing/procurement requests as requested by PayPal stakeholders and/or the Global Sourcing Team in various spend categories and regions. This includes:
    • RFX events (RFP, RFI, RFQ)
    • Financial negotiations
    • Submissions, reviews, and approvals of Purchase Orders and invoices
  • Act as a subject matter expert for Global Sourcing by fulfilling general queries and requests from PayPal stakeholders 
  • Document and manage sourcing and financial metrics within enterprise Source to Pay tool
  • Act as a liaison between Sourcing/Procurement Team with other key stakeholders (Legal, Finance, Compliance, etc.)
  • Conduct vendor relationship activities
  • Drive and recommend process improvements for more efficient operations within Sourcing/Procurement Team
  • Complete analysis of data (including financial, operational data) to make recommendations to Sourcing Team and PayPal Stakeholders
  • Develop strong working relationships with key internal and external partners and ensure a competitive sourcing environment

Skills:

  • Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with team members, stakeholders, and leadership
  • Ability to work collaboratively with peers, leaders, and stakeholders on a daily basis across time zones
  • Understanding of basic Sourcing/Procurement principles and corporate finance functions
  • Ability to quickly change and adapt to new requirements and parameters for various types of projects
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment and manage multiple day-to-day business critical needs, along with long-term strategic projects
  • Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions/recommendations from analyses
  •  Negotiation skills
  • Strong contract/vendor negotiation preparation/execution skills to achieve desired outcomes
  • Critical thinking for problems/projects without precedent or procedures for completion
  • Ability to learn new skills and adapt procedures based on best practices
  • Ability to deliver projects against critical timelines to meet the needs of internal PayPal stakeholders – need to be able to “close” deals to move onto the next request

Education Requirements & Experience:

  • Must have Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or related discipline
  • Experience in Sourcing/Procurement/Operations/Corporate Finance
  • Data/Financial Analytics Expertise (Excel, Tableau, SQL)
  • Experience in project/system management
  • Experience with procurement tools and technology a plus (Ariba, Scout, Coupa, etc.)
  • Experience in Banking, Technology, or Financial Services industry(s) a plus
