The Senior Director of Compensation & Benefits will have comprehensive oversight of Pandora’s rewards programs globally. Reporting to the CHRO, this person will provide strategic leadership and hands-on development and implementation for total rewards initiatives company-wide. A proactive and innovative approach will be critical in ensuring that our rewards are competitive, and are understood and valued by our people managers and employees. A humanistic leader who is passionate about developing their team, this person will serve as a key member of the HR Leadership Team. This position is located at Pandora’s HQ in Oakland, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete oversight of all benefits programs, including the design, planning, implementation and communication of base cash compensation, variable compensation and equity programs at all levels, including executive compensation
  • Lead the comprehensive strategy for total rewards, further developing compelling and innovative compensation and benefits programs aimed at attracting and retaining a highly talented workforce in a competitive environment
  • Continuously evaluate rewards programs to ensure they are aligned with our business and talent strategies
  • Experiment and take risks to drive innovative approaches to total rewards programs.
  • Understand current global and local industry trends and broader best practices
  • Build and optimize compensation and benefits infrastructure, including key processes, relevant technology and communication vehicles
  • Educate managers to enable sound judgment and decision making for compensation decisions
  • Apply an understanding of the broad scope of HR and provide input to programs impacting the organization as a whole as an integral member of the HR Leadership Team
  • Provide active leadership to the team, focusing on the growth and development of each individual
  • Manage sales compensation governance with other key stakeholders
  • Prepare and present materials to the Compensation Committee
  • Collaborate with HR business partners to understand and address needs of various client groups
  • Partner with other internal functions (finance, legal, etc.) to plan and implement C&B programs
  • Manage external partners for effective service delivery
  • Ensure legal compliance of all programs
  • Act as a key advisor on M&A activities as well as manage the related C&B work streams
  • Responsible for creation and implementation of Pandora’s recognition programs
  • Strategic oversight and ownership of the work-life effectiveness practices, focused on ensuring employees achieve success at work and at home

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of strong compensation and benefits leadership experience within a high growth environment in progressive global companies
  • Relevant industry experience in post-IPO media and/or technology companies
  • Experience implementing compensation and benefit programs on an international scale strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of creating innovative, industry leading compensation and benefits strategies and programs
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) and the ability to do so at all levels, particularly with C-level executives on strategic issues
  • Expertise in designing and implementing executive compensation programs
  • Prior experience working with and managing the relationship with the Compensation Committee
  • Significant experience in using HR technology solutions to provide strong analytics and insights to the business to support decision making
  • Prior hands-on experience with due diligence, mergers and acquisitions
  • Experience managing relationships with 3rd party vendors, including compensation consultants, benefit providers and others
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Ability to work across the organization with HR and other functional partners
  • Strong operational expertise in building infrastructure and scalable approaches to plan design, processes, education and communication
  • Influential, people-centric leader and builder of great teams
  • Confident and humble, with the ability and willingness to roll up his/her sleeves when needed
