Position Summary:

Provides full financial and operating decision analysis management for SIRIUS XM’s Customer Care Audio and (Connected Vehicle) CV business.  Performs analysis and maintenance of SIRIUS XM’s business plan, ensuring that it accurately depicts the financial position and future prospects of the Company.  Makes recommendations to senior management on the Company business plan and structure of budgets.  Significantly interacts with the Customer Care team to discuss budgetary and financial results.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as financial specialist and liaison to Customer Care, and develops and maintains relationships with key department personnel, including department managers
  • Develops and maintains annual departmental budgets and re-forecasts and long range plans.  Actively research and provide analysis as to reasonableness of assumptions.  Make suggestions to improve accuracy of re-forecasts, budgets and business plan.  Identify risks and opportunities.
  • Lead the monthly process of allocating hours to our call center vendors, and ensure call volumes are in line with recent trends that ties back to business metrics and activity.
  • Learn and understand operations for groups supported and work to identify savings/synergy opportunities and mitigate risks
  • Works closely with the Controller’s group to provide information to department heads as to accounting methodologies for expenditures and reviews monthly accruals including meeting with accounting team to address new transactions, contracts, etc, incorporating actuals as received
  • Oversees and supervises analyst on monthly budget versus actuals variance analysis, and provides summary memo to executive management as well as distributes/reviews results with department managers and senior management
  • Closely monitors the financial commitments to our call center vendors, ensuring that we are adhering to financial targets while maintaining operational service levels
  • Assists with other analyses as needed

  • Supervises one employee

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in a financial planning / accounting / operations analysis position

Requirements and General Skills:

  • Ability to present professionally to a senior audience with confidence and expertise. Good public speaking and presentation skills
  • Ability to work with people and develop relationships across various functions and departments and at all levels
  • Strong communication skills; can summarize and present conclusions in succinct manner
  • Ability to work closely with departments to develop understanding of operations
  • Organized & proactive, ability to multi-task, good verbal and written skills
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of accounting
  • Results oriented; shows significant initiative
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to pay attention to details and be organized
  • Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects
  • Spelling, grammar, proofreading and editing skills
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong financial analysis, modeling and quantitative skills
  • Accounting knowledge
  • Computer skills (Excel, Access Database, Word, PowerPoint, Oracle / other reporting packages such as Hyperion)
