Want to be a member of the Music Maker Research team? We value music and the people who make it; Music Makers - artists, songwriters, and labels - are at the center of our mission and everything we do. With billions of hours of listening to the music of hundreds of thousands of artists and songwriters, you will contribute to understanding developments with music content, explaining interconnections among music makers and with Pandora to help music makers build and sustain careers. In this role, you'll be implementing and analyzing research to measure the effects of industry innovations on music makers and music listening, and helping to communicate research findings. For this special role, we are looking for a statistician or machine learning scientist who shares our enthusiasm about understanding the music industry and aiding music makers.
Successful candidates will have significant experience in statistical modeling and machine learning, solid programming skills, outstanding communication skills, and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a small team.
To land this gig, you will need:
- PhD degree in quantitative field or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated expertise in a computational field with a strong background in machine learning and/or statistics
- Experience with the design and execution of large-scale quantitative analyses
- Proficiency with R, Python (scientific libraries), or other scientific computing language
- Familiarity with SQL or Hive (or proprietary equivalent)
Bonus points if:
- Familiarity with digital experimentation and causal inference
- Experience with the Hadoop technology stack
- Track record of successful teamwork
- Familiarity with shell scripting for data analysis
