Pandora is seeking a Data Technologist  to join its Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team in our Oakland office. This role will be a key contributor to the FP&A team in assisting in accurate forecasts, reporting on business metrics and driving strategic decisions through modeling and analysis.

The Data Technologist  will be expected to reinforce and improve the technical and analytical capabilities of Pandora's FP&A team. The successful candidate will add a technical dimension and unique set of skills to the existing Analytics team. This position requires a flexible problem solver with a high degree of technical and quantitative aptitude. This individual will be skilled at navigating, comprehending and organizing large data sets and is as comfortable alone with code as with explaining concepts to others.  


  • Bachelor/MS in technical or quantitative field
  • Experience with large data sets and/or relational databases
  • Web development/presentation experience 
  • Practical experience in quantitative analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills


  • Ability to self-direct, posing and solving relevant questions
  • Willingness to teach and learn new techniques to and from colleagues
  • Demonstrated presentation design sense
  • Strong understanding of Javascript
  • js / Dc.js, Crossfilter.js
  • Django / Rails
  • js / Backbone.js
  • Scripting language like Python, Pandas/SciPy
  • Unix, Bash scripting
